ABU Admission Requirements and Cut Off Mark

  • For UTME candidates, admission into this university is only available to applicants who chose Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, as their first choice institution during their JAMB enrollment, and scored 180 or more UTME score. These candidates are ones that are normally able to participate in the Ahmadu Bello University Post UTME screening exercise.
  • For UTME Candidates, here is the WAEC & NECO (‘O’ Level) Requirements: Candidate applying for admission into ABU must obtain a minimum of Credit pass which must include English Language and Mathematics in addition to any other 3 subjects as it relates to your choice of course. 

  • For DE Candidates (Diploma, ND and HND), the WAEC & NECO (‘O’ Level) Requirements is that candidates must obtain a minimum of Credit pass which must include English Language and Mathematics plus any other 3 subjects as it relates to your choice of course just like the UTME requirements. Alternatively, they must possess GCE A/L as this would be an added advantage.
  • Also, DE Candidate seeking admission into ABU must have a minimum of Upper Credit in their ND or HND. Lower credit candidates will not be admitted. 

  • The cut off mark for admission is at the very least 180 and candidates who more likely picked Ahmadu Bello University as their preffered institution during their admission registrations.
